Our team is a good mixture of business, technology and design skillset. Abhijeet has run a hardware startup for 3 years and been a tech consultant for the last 2 years; Tashwin did her Masters from Lehigh university and is currently working at Tempo Automation as a Robotics Software Engineer. Rahul & Laxman are design engineers currently in their final year of Masters program at YCCE, Nagpur; Parag is an embedded engineer with over 17 years of hardcore experience.

I believe we will be a good fit for the program and will be beneficial to take the innovation out in the right place. I (Abhijeet) is also known for building the India's only Batpod - shown in the Dark Knight movie; having a good experience of taking a challenging project and executing it very well. Tashwin has core robotics experience and is best suited for the Tech role, and well versed with the best technology in Silicon Valley. Parag has extensive experience in building several technologies from scratch.

The major problem for people with any disability is being able to move or perform daily tasks. Additional support to their limbs to enhance the muscle power will give them a much better chance to doing the simple everyday tasks with ease. Also, with the help of ‘training’ mode, the movement can be calibrated to an individual’s  'regular' walk mode which  will help the user to better handle their temporary or permanent disabilities. This will allow multiple users to use the same exo.

We will be requiring some mid range electronics for building this prototype. This would include arduino boards and shields; EMG sensors, series of Li-ion batteries and small sized high torque motors. On the material end, we would require aluminium sheets, plastic / fibre glass, a few physio tools used for reference and design.

 

The mentors we will need will be physiotherapists - primarily to guide on the design and use of the exo. We also need someone in the machine learning to help us make the exo a little intelligent to understand and record actions.

 

Some facilities required will be electronics workshop for testing the hardware, a mechanical workshop for building the exo, and fiberglass / plastic moulding shop. More as and when required.

As The same exo can be used by multiple users; allowing them to 'hire' the system instead of purchasing it. Also, since it's a wearable device; carrying it around will not be a hassle.
